Introducing ACRYLITE® acrylic polymers

ACRYLITE® acrylic polymers are thermoplastics based on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). They are designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of our customers. ACRYLITE® polymers are used in a variety of applications requiring vastly different material properties.

ACRYLITE® acrylic polymers are characterized by a number of chemical, physical and technical properties which are indispensable for manufacturing high-quality components by injection molding, injection blow molding and extrusion processes.

ACRYLITE® crystal-clear molding compound grades are so transparent that moldings and semifinished products manufactured from them provide the highest possible light transmission of 92 percent, i.e. show only the physically unavoidable reflection loss of 4 percent at each surface.

Their unique clarity makes it possible to obtain particularly pure colors with an outstanding degree of precision. This in turn ensures the production of white and other colors with excellent lighting engineering properties, such as superior diffusion at relatively low light loss.

As confirmed by tests in all of the world's climates, ACRYLITE® acrylic polymers show unsurpassed resistance to weathering and aging. They do not turn yellow or wear away, show no deterioration of their properties and are not subject to decay.

Owing to their chemical composition, ACRYLITE® acrylic polymers are uniquely suitable for chemical and physical recycling.

In addition to their pleasant feel and sound, moldings and semifinished products made from ACRYLITE® (PMMA) possess the greatest surface hardness and therefore the best abrasion resistance of all thermoplastics. This ensures that they keep their high gloss even after prolonged use.
